The project is a part of the CINEA Framework Contract GREEN ASSIST, which is an initiative within InvestEU that aims to enhance environmental performance, reduce CO2 emissions, and minimize natural capital, resource, and biodiversity impact. The support focuses on improving project readiness and integration of environmental considerations in their design. Triodos (the “Beneficiary”) with a Canadian pension fund issetting up a joint fund platform concept aimed at mobilizing private capital from institutional investors towards positive biodiversity impact, through project private equity in natural capital sectors by working closely with project developers / operators. The Specific objective of this project is to provide Triodos with a better understanding of the market of projects in the Target Scope, the community of investors willing to invest in this scope, and how to fill the gap in-between, and to anticipate on possible origination, by providing input on financing and tax structures to the various typology of projects and investors.
Triodos sought a consultancy support to help designing a fund focused on Regenerative Agriculture, Sustainable Forestry and other Nature Based Solutions, in Europe. The fund will invest in projects & developers that change the way productive activities in agriculture and forestry are done to become drivers for positive change, social and environmentally instead of leading to degradation of natural systems and exploitation of local farmers.
