We were assigned the task of developing and implementing energy management in the Ekurhuleni municipality, and being a key municipal organization, the Edenvale Customer Care Centre was the point of departure.
The work included the development of energy management policies and strategies as well as organizational structures. Work-related guidelines and models for energy-saving behavior have been created for key personnel in the municipality responsible for energy management.
On top of the energy management work, the project included a preliminary and a more detailed energy screening of the Edenvale Customer Centre as well as analysis and verification of energy saving initiatives and implementation of permanent energy plants.
We were also in charge of the subsequent counselling concerning the procurement and inspection of the energy retrofitting of technical facilities and installation of solar heating.
This project has ensured the Edenvale Customer Centre annual energy consumption savings of 38 % – corresponding to 430.000 kWh per year.
