The project seeks to develop the post-2015 National Energy Efficiency Strategy, and determine new energy intensity reduction and sectorial energy efficiency improvement targets from 2015 to 2030 in line with the Medium Term Strategic Framework and the National Development Plan.
This will also include the analysis of energy efficiency potentials utilising acceptable scenarios planning and modelling tools for various economic sectors that should also be listed in the strategy document.
A large component of the project was to transfer and entrenching skills and knowledge in the Department of Energy, through training individuals as well as encouraging organisational learning and capacity building.
We coordinates and facilitates stakeholder consultation workshops with regard to the development of the post-2015 NEES, targets and implementation plan.
