What we do
Danish Energy Management (DEM) is an international consulting company, founded in 1986. We specialize in managing all components of the project cycle for development projects in various sectors. Our industry-leading expert base and experience allows us to focus primarily on energy access, energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate change mitigation, sustainable urban development, and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E). Our global department handles consultancy assignments funded by international donor agencies such as the EU, World Bank, and ADB and many more. Our clients also include Foreign Ministries in Denmark including IFU and Danida and other European countries, development agencies such as GIZ (Germany), Norad (Norway) and RVO (Netherlands).
Your job
We are seeking an ambitious and passionate experienced colleague to be part of our DEM Global team. Your primary role will be to assist in implementing projects by providing consultancy services for clients as part of multi-disciplinary teams and the development of project proposals. Your assignments may include budgeting and planning, conducting feasibility studies, literature research and review, interviews and field missions, analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, formulation of findings and development of conclusions, report drafting, and quality assurance. You will be expected to travel to countries in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Mediterranean and within Europe depending on the assignments.
As an expert at DEM, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in developing countries by contributing to sustainable development through promotion of energy access, increasing energy efficiency, and usage of renewable energy resources in their national energy policy, regulation and legislation, and thereby contributing to the mitigation of climate globally. You will be working on projects that have a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
Job Requirements
We welcome applications from experienced experts within the fields that DEM covers. A variety of disciplinary backgrounds and professional experiences can be relevant for this position as long as you have an interest in energy and climate-related topics relevant to developing countries and be a good facilitator and communicator.
Your profile
Qualifications:
· Master's degree (or similar) in fields such as engineering, economics, development studies, international relations, international business, political science, anthropology/sociology, human geography, or any other related discipline
· Flair and interest for development assistance and consulting in international cooperation
· Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
· Thorough and systematic with a strong sense of detail
· Ability to work under tight deadlines in a changing environment
· Proactive and thorough in your approach to problem-solving
· Fluent in oral and written English (our working language is English)
· Knowledge of other languages (e.g. French, German, Arabic, Spanish, etc.) is an advantage, but not a requirement.
