EU-Viet Nam Sustainable Energy Transition Programme Facility

Our global team and a local team of key experts participate in the implementation of the EU–Viet Nam Sustainable Energy Transition Programme (SETP). The programme is designed to support Viet Nam’s transition toward a more sustainable and efficient energy sector while strengthening broader cooperation between the European Union and Viet Nam in the field of energy.

The SETP provides technical and institutional support to enhance energy sector development in Viet Nam. Its objectives include improving national energy efficiency, increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the country’s energy mix, and strengthening the performance and reliability of the Viet Nam Energy Information System. These efforts aim to contribute to long-term energy security, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and alignment with international sustainability commitments.

The Facility is funded by the European Commission and managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) in Viet Nam. Implementation is carried out through a consortium, led by Stantec, an international engineering and consulting company.

Within the consortium, DEM focuses on advancing energy efficiency measures and supporting the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the energy transition framework. Its contribution emphasizes aligning technical energy reforms with broader sustainability objectives, ensuring that policy development and sectoral improvements are consistent with internationally recognized development goals.
